You might think social media like Facebook and Twitter are a waste of time. It seems like people will share anything! But at the national office, we want to harness these communication tools!
This past year our communications team added Nate Beaird to manage our digital media and bring a contemporary face to what we communicate. We also are in the process of building an in-house video studio. The studio will be used for periodic updates from the national office, video interviews of special guests, and creating video resources for our churches.
People hear repeatedly from every ministry imaginable – and people identify with the ministries that communicate with them. We certainly will not abandon our people who do not choose to enter the digital age of communication. However, if we do not adapt how we communicate with a younger generation we will have abandoned them and our future.
The video studio, in combination with new and future Open Bible web presences (including social media sites, Facebook, and Twitter), will enhance our movement’s resources, spread our stories, and bring fresh interest in our efforts to resource our pastors, missionaries, and the next generations. Now is the time for Open Bible Churches to venture into the digital arena to maximize the resources, news, and inspiring stories many of you share.
We are excited about this new digital playground and plan to bring you events, stories, and resources to help you effectively show Jesus to your community.
